Overcoming Fear To Start A Business

Is it your dream to start a business? Do you dream of owning a successful business? You may even wish that your business can generate passive income for you, so that you can retire financially free.

But you stop there, you didn't make that leap of faith, a huge stone is in your heart holding you back. You have a sense of fear in you. The fear of failure, the fear of uncertainty keeps popping from your head whenever you want to venture out. You are worried about failures, survival, insecurity etc. It will never end unless you put a stop to the fear.

How do you get rid of this fear? To move forward towards your dream, getting rid of this fear is necessary.

First let us discuss about where does fear of failure comes from. This fear comes mainly from young when you are in school. What happen when you didn't do well in school? Do they call you a failure? Do they place you together with children who also don't do well? Do others laugh at you?

This whole concept of fear comes from a place called schools. , a place where learning should happen. Unfortunately, we learnt fear as well.

What does FEAR stands for? It stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. It is bad things you say to yourself even though it didn't happen. Your mind starts playing the movie of "What if..." What if I failed, what if I lost all my money, what if my love ones leave me.

They are not the truth; it's your mind that is playing trick on you. Your mind is deeply conditioned on not making mistakes or avoiding failures.

Starting a business takes some courage. It takes courage to overcome the fear in you. It takes courage to awaken your consciousness about this fear. Your mind will control you with this fear, immobilize you, and stop you from starting a business.

Firstly, identify that it's your FEAR. Understand clearly that it is your mind stopping you from becoming successful. It's just a conditioning from young; you won't feel hurt even if you make mistakes. Human being learns by making mistakes. Mistakes and failures are meant something when we put meaning into it. In reality, there are no failures, only feedback.

Next, realizing it is just your mind playing trick on you, say to it, "thank you for sharing, come back another day". Quickly take action, start your business, go for that investment. Taking action is the most effective way of removing fear. Taking action helps you gain exposure and experience. Experience makes you more competence, therefore removing your fear.

The next time FEAR sets in, identify it and take massive action. Start your business anyhow, soon you'll find yourself having less and less of fear.

    Competence breeds confidence.
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.

Yes, I have to agree that I learned the "fear" from school. I also found that if you score some good grade in school, you will adapt the fear of failure very much. I suspect our fear comes from our ego. Our ego is the main reasons why we fear of failure.

Ya, I totally threw that crap out the window by the time I hit my third failed business lol... But eventually you fail until you succeed, so it all works out in the end.

Yup. Usually those who are so afraid of failure are those who did very well in school. The reason - they have so much to lose.

I am a risk adverse person. I made my leap after informing myself the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur vs. working for the someone. I conduct many informational interviews with established entrepreneurs and after listening to them and having them answer my questions, I made my leap of faith by taking the opportunity when it came. Let just say this. If you don't do it now, will you regret it later on in life? Besides, you live once. Its better to say you tried vs. wonder "what if."

One thing I tell my clients is that there is not such thing as a "crazy idea." An idea is considered crazy because you don't know how to implement it. But if someone tells HOW to implement it or if you KNOW how to implement...is the idea crazy? Of course not. My company basically makes someone's crazy idea into a non-crazy idea by implementing it using our established affiliates to assist in the client's projects.
