Outsourcing SEO

Hello everyone, we are looking to outsource our SEO needs. I am sure most of you have experience with certain companies or directly work with them. I wanted to know which companies are the most reliable and I will experience the least problems through communications, understanding of my projects needs and so on.

I did contact some local firms and they are fairly expensive (around $1,000/ month). If I am able to get more for the money if we outsource it is something we will definately consider. But like I said I am worried about the communications barrier and how reliable they are, so if you have experience with any and would recommend them please let me know. Thanks!

Well, I am looking just for SEO nothing else. But to be fair, I was quoted $1000 on 25 keywords, with 150-300 inbound links/month (I believe that's what they are called) and a few other services. I am looking to basically rank high on the main search engines, Google, Yahoo and Bing.
