Does anyone know the best place to go for one off clothes designs (to be made). These may be copies/replicas of an existing items or something based on a picture or design. Is it best to try china, malaysia to get the cheapest costs? Do any companies offer custom services liek this already?

China/Asia is good for production mostly. But they also do have design teams. If your design isnt too crazy, you could go that route. If price is your biggest obstacle, Asia is your bet. If not, you could check out local garment districts to help you out. If workign with overseas, just make sure you are crystal clear with what you want. If not you could be awarded with a shipment of junk.

you could find tons of cloth factory in Guangdong/JiangSu/Zhejiang in China.
and i have many friends working in clothing factory
a cantonese in Guangzhou, South China
