Ok, got the business...now??

So i started this thing a while ago.
Some of you remember when i started asking questions.

I ordered business cards and post cards, the designs where pretty darn good.
Gave them away. 1000 postcards and 2500 business cards and received 4 calls for information.
I got 1 of them actually but had to cut my profit.
The ordered a limousine and gave it at my cost, gave a big discount on the pictures and ill make money on the pictures re-orders.

So, im starting on makin cold calls, i work @ an insurance agency so we have a pretty biiiiiiig data base of clients.
I started calling them on cold calls, telling them who we are, what we do, and nothing.
Actually some of them ask me, "where did you get my phone?"""
I go like "uuups" and tell them that we get them @ surveys...

Any other ideas???

Oh by the way, i called one of those magazines, the ones you get for free and you see a lot of lawyers, insurance and jumpers,,,

I figured it was Club Promo.

This is where I got my start as an entrepreneur, promoting NYC night clubs then directing events.

With the amount of printed material you distributed, will do jack shit.

We have done years of our own research starting when we would hand out fyers on the street in New York City one by one to get them to get to our parties. Started back in 1997 or so and now we own a printing company.

anyways.... we have distributed over 5 million of our flyers, business cards, invites & brochures since then in the NYC and Miami areas.

70% for night life and parties.

And from our research..... Out of every 10,000 flyers that are strategically placed, only 10 will be a good prospect, sale, or party comer.

Numbers odviously fluctuate - but that is about it.

Point it, the numbers that you have distributed is hardly anything....

About cold calling....

When I was a stock broker, I use to make over 600 cold calls a day, 16 hours a day from qualified investors that already buy stocks. And within those 600 calls, I would get an average of 3 prospects. That;s hard work.

You are cold calling about night clubs to insurance prospects? No way. Worthless, might as well get a phone book and start calling randomly.

What you need to do is naturally build a contact list with people that actually want your services.

1) Add a mailing list on your website so peoeple can sign up.

2) Write down prospect's info when they do call you direct.

3) Have a pair of pretty girls walk around with a clipboard in one of your parties or other event asking everyone if they would like to added to your "vip guestlist mailing list"

this is aimed towards a hispanic market, you will know why is in spanish...

Handing out flyers might be a hard way to get customers. People get so much information on the streets that it gets pretty irritating.

Now, Ive given bus cards directly to the people i sell insurance, and we gett a nice chat and they really get interested.
Im doing the calls on insurance quotes becuase thats what i have available. And i can do it on the office while i work.

But i guess the best way that ill get to use is the old best way available, Word of mouth recomendation....

Any other ideas??

Go with the information "versas" gave you. The "real" money to be made from anything is return customers not new customers. Build a list of return customers and by word of mouth (the industry you are in seem's very "word of mouthy") this should help you get new customers.

Thank you, I guess ill be patient.
I have 2 customers, one i already did their pics, limo and other stuff.
And the second one is scheduled for the 30th of this month.
So ill wait to get the nessesary recommendations......
