    Office Space

Anybody have any good ideas for starting up with office space.

I need a hole for myself so I don't have to be at home.

I have 4 kids at home and my wife home schools.... enough said.

All I want is a desk and an internet connection.

    any advise for a newbie.

    Hi,

I hear ya, I work from home and I go stir crazy pretty much daily.

Best option, I think, would be an executive office situation - where you rent 1 office of many on a floor. There's a front desk person for all the various office renters, common copy area, kitchen, etc. but at the end of the day it's all individual businesses in those offices. Cheaper than renting your own full out office, but still costs money. Usually can get internet and phone and everything else hooked up no problem. Get an Ikea desk, and you are in business. The consulting firm I worked for before I went out on my own did this, we just rented 3 offices in an exec suite, since no clients were coming to visit us, we just needed a place for home base basically. Worked well.

Co-locate with an existing business. People are always looks for other people to share offices with. Try looking or posting in the classifieds.

thanks for all the great responses.

I have already posted an ad on craigslist (got zero)

I would love to find someone with an extra office or something.

The library is an interesting solution, but won't they like kick you out for hanging out all day?

I also found right down the street a public storage that can get me a 6X8 office space for like 280/month (maybe I can talk them down a bit), comes with power, but nothing else.

    I need internet....
