Well, I run a small newspaper and am looking to really expand it this year. Does anyone else here have experience in this type of industry who can give me some pointers on how to run this better? Especially how to devise a pricing system for advertising.

Do you have a digital version? Print media isnt doing as well as it used to, and many newspapers and magazines are distributing their stuff digitally now, especially with stuff like the Kindle, iPad, etc being popular ways for people to read their info. It could also potentially expand your readership by offering you greater reach which = more advertising $ (potentially. that in and of itself is a contributing reason why Newspapers and Magazines arent doing so well, at least in the US. Advertisers are not spending as much on advertising).

ya I use all of those, I am mainly wondering how I should devise my advertising pricing structure.

You need to see where your competitors are in terms of pricing then elaborate your strategy in relation to benchmarks.

Why dont you launch a web version of your news paper, it need not be a huge portal at the start.a small but efficient and informative website would do you a world of good.
