Hi folks,
my name is Michel, I'm a small entrepreneur in France, small because so far I haven't started in the big leage yet.
I have however successfully managed to start a few small local businesses consisting mostly in providing a service that existed already as such, but with many innovations.
For example I have a small "two-men movers company" specialized in working very unconventionnal times of the day and on week-ends, hence to allow working persons to participate in the action, I thus can provide the lowest price for a moving, leaving the competitors behind by far. This company however can only live as long as I keep it small, if I'd expand it, there would be more costs and so, higher prices...
Recently I felt the urge to fill some of the numerous market niches that exist in France. There are so many niches because French people are very conservative, very self focused, speak almost no other languages than French,...
This leaves many opportunities for multi-language-speaking persons with a sense for business and market needs.
Now to my question:
I'd like to import products from Asia, mostly China I guess, I noticed the website alibaba com, and some other sites, which are very confusing to me at this point.
How do deliveries generally work with Asian imports? Do I have to get to the location of production or do they send the merchandize themselves? Will there be many middle-men?
If any one had a link to a general guide for asia import or something alike this would be great!!
I'm looking forward to any comments, answers, or even questions on the French market.
Thanks, and greetings from France
