    Question Newbie COD question

Sorry but i havent been able to find too much good info about how COD works.

When the package arrives, what can i pay with? Is it literally "cash on delivery"?
can i pay with credit card, check? I'm assuming the package is being sent either by ups or fedex.

This I know for sure: when paying COD with UPS, the sender can either request any funds (personal check, certified/cashier's check, money order, or traveller's check) or guaranteed funds (cashier's check, money order). You can never pay with cash, as it is UPS policy that drivers are no longer allowed to carry large amounts of money (for obvious reasons).

    Hey Felix,

I just recently sent web cam orders on COD through regular US Postal service.
They will take check or cash. The amount that will be charged to you is the cost of the product plus shipping cost unless of course you negotiated a free shipping.

    Hope this helps.

I would recommend never using COD because of the logistical issues. I used it once about 15 years ago, but never again.

I didn't even realize that businesses still used COD. I know that I never have, and certainly never will. I've heard COD horror stories by the older, more experienced.

I'm starting an online retail right now. Pretty much every company I'm dealing with uses COD. COD is still widely used in B2B.

But these "horror stories" are mainly from the senders side right? I dont really see the risk on the buyers side, if the package is inspected correctly.

I use CODs whenever im first setup with a supplier, unless you have good trade refrences cods are ussually required for your first orders befor you get on net terms with them.
