    New to blogging... HELP!

    Howdy all,

I'm new to blogging and I need some help with getting started. I have a forum on my website.. but its really worthless. My customers have no reason to visit. I just created a blog on rogercbryan's Xanga Site. I just did this last night so it has nothing to do with business as of yet, just some of my cooking stuff.

Here's what I'm looking for. I have a ton of domains so I want to use one of those as the web address, any suggestions? I’ve also seen some peoples blogs that have categories. I would like to have a cooking section (my hobby), a donation section (for my non-profits), and a section for my consulting company, again… any suggestions?

I’m fairly computer literate so if some one could point me in the right direction for a good blogging site I may be able to handle to rest. Also, if any of you share the same interests I’d love to see your blogs!

you should build your blog with content that is relative to cook and you should be able to add the affiliate and incentive links as you go along. Then start you marketing by visiting and participating at forums and yahoo groups that are the same theme. Make sure you take advantage of the signture links for these places to. Time management ios the key here.

richkid has a start up blog ebook... u can get it here:

Blogging Unleashed - Become A Pro Blogger!

i just finished reading it and it has some great tips and details out alot of the questions you might have about blogging...

as far as categories, when you post there should be a section at teh top of bottom of your post that asks you to type in the category... the blog programming (css i think?!?) will then categorize each of ur posts into there automatically... however they will probably all show up in the order you posted them.

Categories are simply for ur readers to jump to the category that interests them... for example, i run a family blog and every time i post an event or video that includes my son i put his name in the category box. That way when family members visit the site they can click on dylan and get all the posts that have to do with my son...

    hope that helps
