    Security Services

No matter how badly off the economy is, every major building or sometimes even most minor ones will require a security guard to stand guard at all times. So the security business can also be good ways to recession proof your future, although previous experience and tactical training in warding off burglars will be needed.

As this economy we are in now, and for the long haul, the best type of business to start is a Network Marketing business. Now before the naysayers out there get all bent out of shape - learn and study the business model first...

It is the only business that can be started up by anyone, from any walk of life. It doesn't matter your background, education or lack of it, or your financial situation good or bad. It all doesn't matter. What does matter is the effort you put in. It also takes very little capital to get started. It is not a get rich overnight business (as many are led to believe - which is a wrong marketing approach). It is a business model that has a one to two year plan for being able to make an income that will support you - again with the proper effort on your part. Then in years three to five is when you build your business for the long term residual income. From years six and on, then the choice is yours depending on your specific long term objectives...

Here's what Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Man - Poor Man author) says about the business model of Network Marketing.

As far as U.S. law, there are no required licenses that I know of, nor do I know of any worldwide. I have been selling and promoting products and services worldwide for decades and have never been confronted with any business license requirement. It is different if you are a traditional business, many states require you to register and define your business to state.

Starting an online business is ideal i believe. In most cases it takes less money than a physical business and gas money can be saved by simply shopping online lol. To be more specific though, i'd say selling e books or programs that teach you how to make money through affiliate marketing is best. In a time where money is scarce, people are looking for new ways to make it. Also only thing you pay for is advertising, hosting, and an autoresponder which is economically and recession friendly if you ask me.

I agree sice1234... educational products are cheap to produce, hard to replicate, and have great markup possibility, and very little risk. Beyond that, I believe the best part of making educational ebooks or programs is you can really leverage your own passions and experiences into the product. Too often people get hell bent on the money or some idea for a widget they really don't have passion around, they just want to make an easy buck. As cliche as it sounds, I firmly believe you are more likely to be successful if your business revolves around a topic you would otherwise do for free. Its the best way to keep momentum when the drudgery of running a business sets in. - Alex

Yes, you can start a small business even during a recession. Some small businesses thrive during a difficult economy. These businesses are called counter-cyclical businesses. Starting any small business during a recession is a baptism by fire, but if you can survive, you will thrive as the economy recovers. These business ideas are viable during a recession. As the economy recovers, they will still be sustainable businesses that will prosper.

Hey folks, Let me first say if you want something bad enough you will keep trying until you get it.

I was not working, could not find anyone to help me with any of my start up business. So I redirected my focus, I have decided to get my body together! (I know crazy) But as I was doing that, I found a great product to use and that company offered a business opportunity. I jumped on it because I had nothing to lose. And let me tell you, everyday I wake up I wake with a smile on my face because I know where my next dollar is coming from. And on top of that, I have met someone that is doing the same thing, and she is making $$$$$ WORKING FROM HOME!!!

I dont want to take anyone from their initial dreams, but if you need some funds to help you on the way as me I will tell you how.

Right now, health care or technology (servers, apps, cloud software) are the places to be. Both will be growing for the foreseeable future and have huge potential for growth. Which industry you choose depends on your experience and startup capital.

A lot of good ideas, but I'll stick to online business. May be because it's not expensive to start, no license is needed. For example shopping search engines and similar sites. They just provide kind of service. We in $earch also will try in this competitive field, but I'm in doubt whether there aren't too many companies offering the same. A single advantage may occur to be crucial in such situation.
