    New Idea: Youth Entrepreneur Blog

Before you get the wrong idea... I know many of you are probably thinking "this is not a new idea" or "here we go, another youth blog." But let me explain myself.

Here is what I am proposing to do. I want to start a youth entrepreneur blog of my own... it'll be just like any other business blog that only has blogged info from the author (and no it won't have 1,000 other people blogging as some do with paying for blog posts... only focusing on AdSense revenue.)

My new idea is sort of a mix with DrMoney's "High School Hustlers" blog with a "youth interest" feel to it. Surely it'll cover the important things, but it'll also have a edge to it so that younger readers in which the blog will target, doesn't get tired of it so quickly and they'll want to read.

Basically, in short, the blog will cover money managing strategies, starting a business, running a business, etc.

I would like to hear first from you (the hopefully future readers though... I am going to try my hardest not to be a boring blog) what you'd like to specifically read. The topic base is wide right now... like, I could blog about Investing in Real Estate, Researching Your Market, Doing Your Due Diligence, etc. Its so many topics I can choose from but I want to hear what everyone out there wants to read, not what I want to post... since its the readers that will gain the knowledge.

Now, I know I failed starting up a blog once (I posted too often and started misleading some people cause of my poor research... this will change the hands for this one as this'll be taken a bit more seriously, but will have a "personal" edge added in *like holiday wishes from me and my fiance and our families to yours... etc* and I am also looking to run contests every other month possibly.)

I need some insight... please help me out.

P.S. I may need a couple of "professionals" from the forums if I cover a topic that somebody may be able to answer... not just to receive some facts, but provide an interview for the readers to get the best insight on the topic. This includes Akula, Versas, RADReality, Rob Rawls (for graphic design), The Stealthy One, etc. Everyone let me know if you'd be interested in interviews for the future.

^^ What are you talking about... first off, I am not copying the idea... plus... what "idea" --- the idea isn't necessarily (as Akula once told me) intellectual property so there is nothing really being copied here. I am looking to start my own for the fact that I want to, not that I am creating competition.

Do you believe everything Akula says? You are doing it because you see this site becoming more popular and you want to copy it. Immatation is the best form of flattery.

^^ That's great to hear coming from a guy who bases their company on whether a person LOOKS up-to-par based upon their avatar. Great advice... maybe you should think entrepreneurship a bit more seriously.

And what is becoming popular about DrMoney's blog... not to create controversy... but what exactly is there about it that I want to copy. He has a good blog and I salute him for that, but honestly, there is nothing to compete with. So maybe attending the forums a bit more will correct your assumption.

And to believe Akula, yeah, I do for the fact that Akula (and no pun intended to anyone else) is probably the most knowledged on the YE forums. So asking me if I believe what he says is true is like challenging Akula's reputation of knowing what he is saying. Maybe Akula can answer the "intellectual property" area for you a bit more Diamondman.

By the way, since we're throwing catch phrases out... why not catch this one... one that I decided to make for this occasion: Immitation is the least of flattery, but it is the most of respect to the person who proved a site to be complete (or near) successful. Allow me to explain... I respect DrMoney, but really, as I said earlier, this is not a competition, its about giving to the younger community of entrepreneurs and influencing to use their money wisely.

ONE MORE THING: Doing some research also would've discovered that High School Hustlers is based more around the young entrepreneur area, as where my blog will be catering to young entrepreneurship AND money managing and youth investing.

Go ahead and think your next debate topic up... whether I'm a bad looking person because of a stupid avatar to not being capable of running a business (as you put it) based off my avatar. As a great saying once said... don't judge a book by its cover.

Yes... but when I said the idea was going to somewhat reflect off the site, I meant as in being a mix of DrMoneys High School Hustler blog, not Young Entrepreneur. YE is a entrepreneur forum where everyone can talk about all entrepreneurship topics and has done a great job with it.

On the topic of naming the site, I haven't had any ideas yet, but 1 comes to mind that is ticking right now as being the actual name. We'll see...

unless it is something original it will be hard to establish a position. you will be starting from the ground with no viewers, no content, no anything in an area that already has a lot of established sites.

my advice is to think of something totally new. or cater to a niche. maybe an entrepreneur site for people of a certain ethnicity, like Italian Entrepreneurs or something (assuming there isn't already a site like this).

look at ebay, it has established it's place in the market and do you know how many sites came along trying to do auctions after ebay? probably hundreds if not thousands, and can you name me any 2 or 3 of them? i can't.

    Hey Dustin,

Personally, I feel there are many websites offering tips/advice on how to run a business, do your market research etc. etc.

A blog like this would be great - but I'd only read it if it focussed on current events in the business world.

To give you an example; you could talk about Ford selling off Land Rover and Jaguar but keeping Volvo. Something like this would interest me more than tips/advice about running a business.

Thanks Dustin, But I think what he was looking for was some Constructive Criticism, not sarcastic views on if hes copying someone, and hes really not.
