    New idea...if you want

This is a new idea I just had. You are welcome to steal it, as I won't pursue it. It may not be the next great thing, but it'd be fun to talk about.

How's this: A weekly or monthly "magazine" subscription that covers any non-visual intensive topic (finance, international news, ect.), but is actually just an audio disc (CD). Of course, it's only 74 minutes long, but you could cover some interesting points in that time. Have some opinion pieces, an interview, current events, ect. and some small room for adds. It would be very cheap to do.

It would come in a tiny addressed jewel case each week or month, and you can listen to it on the way to work. If you trust the analysis and get access to good interviews or good insight, I dont see why not. You could fill it with the kind of stuff most magazines have in them, minus the pictures.

I was just thinking of it because I get Forbes every month, but it's so hard to find the time to read it. I spend about 1hr 45min in my car every day going ot and from work, and I trust the content of Forbes, so if I could get an audio version I would love it.

    What do yall think?

A lot of network marketing companies use a weekly tape/CD for their support programs. I subscribed to the weekly tape for a couple years while I was in Quixtar.

Could work... maybe a discount for an mp3 download? My hands are too full as well, but great idea IMO.

ever heard of podcasts? i would think CDs may be too out dated for a lot of people, and the cost would be increased as opposed to pod casts... of course you could offer both.

Uploading a podcast to iTunes at a price could be a good idea

Not a bad concept, but it's been done CD's have given way to Mp3's and podcasts. If you could talk to Forbes and turn their articles into audio and add it to their magazine, then you may have something there.

Yeah the key here is quality 'beef'. If you can't get rights to convert existing magazines to audio you need to get some good writers...
