I was just wondering if you drive to the persons place of business or home. And if you do drive there, does your business need insurance incase you are in an accident? Or is it covered under normal car insurance?

    ben....no, but nice try
    1hrmovies reminds me of Kozmo.com
revolutionary idea, except your finances aren't gonna stack up
your contribution margin (revenue per video less variable cost) is either negative, or so low that your break even point is gonna be at an unreachable level
drop this, or you will end up in bankruptcy
you can't make this venture reach profitability without 8 figure working capital

    Ben,

Netflix and Blockbuster Video already has a good market share. Plus, their "play now" libraries will increase in no time. By then, your business will have no place with the increase of internet tv companies and the bandwith becoming cheaper.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. The way it works is you can order a rental online, by text, or by phone. The pre-zoned drivers are texted immediately through our new software and the members address and title can be found. Since we are just starting, our company only services Broward and Dade county for now and are in the process of obtaining major funding. Each driver carries up to five copies of the last few years new releases, and we would like a driver on hand at the distribution center to deliver any odd titles that may not be carried in the vehicles. Inventory is already on-hand from our previous business, and our memberships are residual, plus we have all of our previous members already on board. Eventually we would like to have a driver for all five mile radius zones. We hope that these new ideas can revolutionize home entertainment. Wouldn't it be cool to get a pizza and a movie delivered right to you within an hour, along with snacks and beverages. Please give us your feedback!!
P.S. For now we have insurance through our business, and are looking for new policies to cover us. We are still in the building process and realize that our ideas cannot be implemented without capitol, which is why we would like feedback from anyone so we can have our complete business plan set up before allocating our resources.
    Thank You

    Let me get this right:

So, I want a movie that was released only three months ago.
I get on "1hourmovies.com" and order the movie.
Five hours later, the movie shows up at my door.

Hmmm. I would never order another movie, and I would never let anyone ELSE order a movie. Good luck though.

Its a good idea but (in my opinion) its just not possible. You need to cover your costs of fuel, insurance, tax, servicing and the driver's fee and you're expecting to do this by delivering dvds which people have paid no more than £5 for (im assuming). And this is just the delivery costs. To make it work you would need a MASSIVE working capital, and you would certainly not turn a profit in the first few years, if ever. During this time you would be pouring money into promoting your business which could ultimately fail anyway. Nice idea, sorry about the synical feedback
Best of luck if you do decide to go with it

This could work for a small town where the loyalties of the customer is more important than the worrying about business. Many people don't care what business they use as long as they get the best prices, the best service, and most convience.

Maybe you could partner up with pizza delivery and other food delivery services so that people could call for dinner and be able to get a movie too. This is just an idea.

There are many great minds out there that have responded in the posts above. They will shoot straight with you. I do think that you have a hard sale. I would suggest that you have a cut off point of how much you are willing to spend. You may make a business, but you have to make a profit too.

I think that this could possibly work, if you, like LiveWise said, partner up with another company, etc....

People already recieve this service through Netflix and Blockbuster.

I think the overhead for the company would be too much to actually make it on your own. If you partnered up with another company your overhead costs would be less and you would have a better chance of making this work.

If you are planning on having people go door to door and deliver movies, make sure you do the proper background checks on all employees that are going to be doing this. You can never be too careful.

    Good Luck

Hello, thank you for the feedback. Many people have contacted us on other forums rearding our costs for set-up, the initial cost is much less than people think mainly because we are integrating our ideas into a pre-existing rental company that has been succesfull for the last five years. The profit margin is actually very high, considering that we only need to rent each title we buy three or four times to make a profit. Since new releases are rented an average of fifteen to twenty times when they first come out alone, we will make up the cost of less popular titles and then some. This will allow us to offer a delivery service to our members that will be included with the monthly membership. Thank You!!!

    Hey Ben,

I think it's a great idea. People that already have Netflix or Blockbuster Online sometimes want a movie that night - and you're offering them to do that without leaving their house. Let us know how it goes.

I think your website needs a little work because I can't really read anything on there. I'm not sure if you used a different font and I just don't have that font on my computer but it's very hard to read.

    All the best,
    Maxim
