New Business Idea (Market Research Company)

In order to improve the services for my existing business a ran a focus group. I really enjoyed the process and it became very benifitual. I thought about starting a market research company that would operate by providing focused data through focus groups to a client then work as a marketing agency on the backend and set up a marketing plan based on the focus groups. The customer base would be small companies looking to enter the market but I would like to get involved with large companies as I increase in credibility. I am nearly complete with my BA in Management and my potentail partner has his degree in marketing. I really think we could make a go of this business. I would like to here your feedback because I am still in the excitment stage and not thinking of all the negatives or if this is even a feasable idea.

With the economy slowing down the first thing to get cut is usually marketing, so building your company may be slow.

On the other hand if you can get your company in front of your prospective customers now, when they are ready to start spending money on marketing again you will hopefully be first to come to mind.

The big question is how long do you think this downturn will last, and will you and your company have the ware-with-all to see it out until things turn around?

Good Luck. Sounds like a good idea to me.

It sounds a great idea for a business but the economy slowing down is definitely likely to affect the company.

However with consistent hard work you can rise above the rest. I am sure you can do it.
    Best Regards

There's no harm in seeing if it works out is there? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there doesn't seem like there would be too big of a need for capital for this.
