Need web assistance please

I am not a web designer and I need to change a few small things via Dreamweaver for one of my sites. How do I get the specific html pages from my online Cpanel to Dreamweaver so I can edit?? Isn't there a program that I can use that will allow me to copy and transfer all of my html pages to dreamweaver?

You should have access to your web host via an ftp (file transfer protocol) address. e.g. ftp://mysite.com. You should be able to find out what the address is from your CPanel. If you cannot, then simply go to the page you want to edit and click File>Save As and save the document to your PC, then open the file with dreamweaver.

If your site uses an external .CSS document to style it then while you are editing on your pc you may notice it looks slightly odd or different, but it will be back to normal once you upload it again to your host and view it overnet.

If you want more detailed advice but do not want to give out too much detail in the main forum then PM me.

I appreciate the advice Grizzly. Considering I am not qualified to conduct such changes, I am asking anyone who has the appropriate skill to PM me a quote for the following:

This is for www.paxwest.com -

*Add "Careers" to the nav bar

*On Index.html (Home), below the picture create a frame allowing me to place another picture there. This is currently not possible via Dreamweaver.

*Make www.paxwest.com/moving_tips.html more appealing. Perhaps frame the different sections? All ideas will be welcomed

*Create a Site map @ the bottom of the page

Please advise with a quote. Only the most experienced need apply.

just move everything to hotblog, you won't ever have any of these difficulties again.

everything is manageable from inside the browser and html code is easily viewable and exportable- to dreamweaver - or anywhere else you want.

we're having a sale and giving away free accounts.

Wow just looked at all your files and its a real mess under the hood. The reason you are having such problems editing your pages is because the site has been made using DWTs (dreamweaver templates) It basically means that your designer has created a layout file that all your pages refer to for their structure...but he has made very strict coding rules so that you can only edit the text content part specific to each page. I have the dreamweaver template file downloaded (paxwest.dwt) from your server, but even If I was to download your entire site I would never be able to recreate the relationships that occur between the files without using the computer they were made on. This only affects me editing your navbar, you wanted me to add 'careers'. I am able to edit the .dwt effectively but because there is no relationship it does not automatically update the rest of the pages that use the template. DWTs are a real nuisance I can't express how strongly I recommend against them! Anyway I will have a go at it after I do the rest.

What is the image that you want added to the index page?

As for the rest there shouldn't be a problem.

Hey Grizzly,

Sounds complicated! Not sure which picture I will put in, as long as there is a frame below the other pic on index I can add it anytime. Thanks.

I'd sure like to see what a $100 website looks like lol. I would charge $100 for a consultation and concept design. You might want to up your offer to atleast $500 if you want to be taken seriously.
