    Need the forums input for our business!

    Hey guys, been a while since I have been here, been so busy with work. Ok, so recently my employers have purchased the assets of a business planning and development online entity and there seems to be an issue with retention and conversion from site traffic.

    The website has NO image of who we are with background on the front page or any other. Other competitors do, but its from only college grads with little experience or from self proclaimed entrepreneurs writing business plans.

    Well, we are getting a great deal of people with low spending habits for products in business plans that should be sold in the thousands easily, but I just feel that they would not be in their right mind to spend even $500 with a company website with no information about the people that work there.

    Now, what I have proposed to our President and CEO is to put their bio up on the first page a picture and a bit of their background, which STOMP the competitions background. The principals of the company are Either VC now or X VC with a solid track record in corporate sales and working as VP of public companies and have even been involved in bringing companies public as well.

    The questions is this..

    Will putting the Bios up of our principals on the First page of our site make the difference in making people feel more comfortable in purchasing professional services from us? Or is it just that our website is not communicating properly and not getting clients to come work with us?

    Can you give us a link to check out because it is hard to contemplate all that in your head without having something to look at.

    Without looking at the site I would probably lean towards putting the bios up as a good step but you will need to take other action as well. For B2B I always suggest utilizing your website as a tool to get a potential lead on the phone. There is often much more red tape in business transactions (terms, PO's, etc.) than normal consumer transactions which often leads to a better sales experience when talking to a helpful contact over the phone. Converting B2B leads is almost ALWAYS a multi step process.
