Need Some Ideas for Marketing!!!!

Hey everyone,
My Friend and I are at the end of the process of getting our website created for our new business idea, www.greenfees.com.au , it is an online golf reservation website, which is based on www.teeireland.com we have a few ideas on how we can get clubs interested in our service, but would like some more ideas.....if any one could help that would be great....

Cheers,

Tom

Will the clubs be paying to have their courses featured on the site, or will you be taking a % of the booking fees, or both?

Some promotional strategies I'd look at would be sponsoring an event or two. Perhaps even organising a competition with your company as the headline sponsor?

I'm a golfer and theres nothing worse than having some free time and not being able to get on. Would your site also have the clubs schedule so social golfers know when they can have a hit?

We will be charging a small fee, of Approx. AUD25cents for 9 holes and AUD50cents for 18 holes. No matter how expensive the course is.

WE are looking at ways to market to clubs at the moment, trying to get them to join the site.

We will have all the clubs available tee times, and you will have to register with our site to join, but only have to pay when you play.

Thanks for the reply.

Very cool.
The reason I suggested supporting a competition or two would be: you'd time that right around the same time you approach the clubs with your concept and website. You show them what you have and what promotional events you're participating in to give the website and ultimately them, exposure.

The only hurdle I see will be if clubs figure that they don't NEED your site. There may be a lot of 'older mentality' within the board.

find 1 club that is willing to do it and show their tee time slots left unused before and after they start using you. hopefully you can use this to show them how effective you are. Also you might want to consider offering to enter all golfers automatically into a drawing to win free golf gear?when they use your site to get a tee time. i dunno if you have that kind of money but sounds like it would work for making it popular. once its more popular im sure golf clubs would be more willing to join.

Great idea Jesse! To add to that idea, when getting your sponsors on board for the tournament, make sure you approach your local top radio station. You get them onboard by saying that they are the only radio station that is giving away tee times to this promotion. You have the Morning Team come out as celebrities and let them call it "Their Tournament". That way you not only get exposure from people who visit the golf course, but you and the golf coarse get the much greater exposure from the radio advertising.

There is a radio station here that does that ever summer. It's gotten so popular that they hold the event now 3 - 4 times a year and it get huge publicity.

Thanks for the ideas.....
We are thinking of offering a 2 month trial for all clubs.....to allow them to get used to the site, and have it all working before they have to pay.....

What do you think of the idea of getting one club on board, and then organising a charity golf day, with Greenfees.com.au as the major sponsor, held at the golf course that has joined....providing advertising for us, and for the club, and raising money for the charity....

just adding on to ideas that you guys have said....

Let me know what you think

Thanks
Tom
