Lightbulb Need Idea in Developing Domain As An E-Commerce Website

    Hi,

I have SpecialGifts {dot} Asia domain which I am planning to develop as an e-commerce website. But the financial is my major constraint (wish I have generous investors). Thus I'm looking for a genuine solution which is value for money.

I have been studying Shopster and Shopify, both provide full e-commerce package by which I can start my e-commerce instantly & both are great! Shopster's e-Commerce is currently being offered at $69.95 & one time startup fee $99 while Shopify's Professional is being offered at $59/mth (no setup fee). Shopster comes with drop shipping service. Shopify is not a drop shipper thus if I subscribe it I need to pay extra to subscribe to a drop shipper. Anyone in this forum subscribing their service & willing to share their experience?

But I also wondering, do I have other better option(s) other than selling the domain?

    Please share your opinion.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Ian Kree

    Unhappy

I might wanted to subscribe Salehoo Drop Shipper for $67 lifetime and subscribe web hosting with free osCommerce (around $5 per month) ... but again, do I have better option?

Thanks. magentocommerce.com has a long list of features. Yes, it is free - it is an open source. They do provide support services but at a price tag but is still considered "OK".

As a layman, I am asking to all forum community members: which one is better - osCommerce, ZenCart, CubeCart or Magentocommerce?

    Again, thank you.

The best is none of the above, unless you have $3,000 to pay a professional to set it up for you.

I am assuming you don't have that much money to finish the project, hence you looking for a free solution. I'm actually working on one for a domain name I just acquired. A very rudimentary example is this site ( MustBid.net ) where I used all free components to make the store.

It's still a work in progress, but it will be a better solution than ANY of the above. lol

I have built many websites using a simple Miva shopping cart with SEO-friendly links doing millions of dollars in revenue....if you do a google search for Miva hosting you'll find a gazillion results...I know we use Driftwood Network Solutions and Hostasaurus which run approx. $35 - $40 a month for hosting, email, and miva shopping cart...

    Hope this helps....

    Hi,

I surfed you website. I see that you are using Wordpress & you subscribed a web hosting (with free/pre-installed Wordpress).

Err ... may I know how you integrate Shopping Cart into Wordpress?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,

Are you talking about Miva Merchant? After you mentioned it, I immediately google it & I bumped into Miva Merchant. How good is it compared to osCommerce & so on?

    Thanks.
