Need Help with a new business

Hi
I bought a tanning bed that I placed in my house.
I expect in opening a salon pretty soon, buying more bed: plan is done, I already have marketing idea etc, I am about to find a local.
The only thing is,
Is this normal that I can't find any provider for tanning lotion?
I always get middle man... and the cheaper tanning lotion are on ebay!
I don't want to use ebay every time to order lot of lotions.
I am about to register it at the gouverment to get my #.
Tell me if you can help.

Why don't you find the product you want, and then contact the company directly? If their phone number isnt on their product, search for the companies website.

can't find out tanning lotion provider?are you sure that's the opportunity?then try every media around you,tv,newspaper,especially internet,maybe some providers in another corner're being worried they can't find who to sell their products!!!

I found a lot of "distributors" but I am pretty sure most of them are middleman.

You know, tanning bed distributors are also knowledgeable with businesses that deal with tanning such as your supplies distributors (direct). Why don't you ask them as well.

Another way to reach the direct suppliers-find out if there are any events related to tanning. Run a google search on tanning expos or tanning conference. That can also lead you direct to them

yea, contact them directly and make proposal. Maybe they can give you discounts for large purchases.

Bad business to get into.

Me my state, they are regulating it alot now because of a death from skin cancer or a young women.

Yeah, I heard that. Surely she should have known, though. I don't think more regulation is the answer. Simply require businesses to give a warning to their customers. "Sign here to acknowledge you have been warned and understand the risks", like that.

I got an answer from the biggest (one of the only ones in Canada) distributors but to protect Tanning salon,
They can't sell to people without any Tanning salon with a business adress and the sell rep told me I would get the same answer from the other distributors in Canada.
I tryed with a few tanning salon here , so they can pass bigger order but they ask wayyy to much. I would buy on Ebay before using them this way.
I am about to check with USA distributors, with all cost, it will be almost the same price than a distributor here.
I think I could start a business this way.
Yes , lotion at my price will be a lot of competition for tanning salon but, that's business.
I see that this business looks very saturate in US but here , in Quebec Canada, That's a big opportunitie for me.
I will still try to find a good provider.

I forgot,
I would like to have a bigger capital (If you don't understand I will explain what I mean, hard to translate) while selling tanning lotion here, To my target (french community in Canada at amazing price) like all of you do.
I get a lot of people who would help me with marketing and a lot of them would help develop this project on their town.
I would set everything on a website, (working on it) and once I made a few $$, finish my other project (tanning salon)

All manifacturor Distributors I talked with told me the same thing.
There are a lot of inquiries agains people who are selling/reselling/distributing tanning lotion at wholesale prices.
There are condition that you must follow if you don't want to loose your access to manifactur.
That mean all people selling tanning lotions on Ebay are now illegal.
You must have a tanning salon, can't resell to public via website , can't become a distributors to public, must respect a minimum prices for each bottle.
