Need advice on how to improve overall idea of my site

    Hello,

I recently opened BetMyStock and I'm currently in the marketing stage trying to attract new traffic every day. My site allows users to gamble on the stock market. When I say gamble I mean make bets on lines, like sports, except instead of one team vs. another, it is on one stock vs another. Currently users can bet on selected stocks and pick which will perform the next day in the market.

My problem is getting users to return multiples times to the website rather than once a day to place a bet. If anyone has any suggestions with the funcitonality/overall idea of my website to increase reoccuring visits, it would would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

When i click on your website my blocker came up saying your website is a suspicious website that can steal my financial info. So maybe thats why no one is returning to your site. You need to check that out i didnt even bother staying on your site after that popped up. You website is not ready for launch sorry to say.

Set up a forum which will allow discussion about almost anything, but mainly stocks ofcourse. Add a reputation system into the forums or a reward system.
For example, a reward system that lets you have a custom avatar or a signature after 20helpful posts. (the number can be changed to whatever you think will be the best for your forum)

Adding a blog could be an option too. Remember to combine twitter with your blog.

There are countless ways, just be creative.

EDIT: @ williams89, that's weird. Nothing popped up when i went to the site
I've tried with both my browsers while having my firewall up at highest security.

This didn't happen for me either. what software are you using? It probably just tries to block betting sites in general.

I have had many people testing it over the past few weeks and additional new users and never have heard anyone say this. I think you just have a setting on your software blocking financial or gambling sites.

I plan on adding forums in the near future. I just wanted to gain a decent userbase first on the site so the forums wouldn't be full of empty posts. In addition, I plan on having the forum database integrated with the database of the site so users don't have to sign up twice. I will have to pay for this to be done so this wil also depend on ad revenue.

Any ideas on how the actual betting works? I would like to make it all automated in the future where you can pick any stock and any timer period and predict what it will do, and your odds will be determined by what you choose to bet on but this seems like it is going to be very costly down the road.

Off Moneymaka's idea, if you do start the forum, you should create threads for each of the bets. By this I mean first thing in the morning create a thread for all the bets (Stock A vs. Stock B) and try to get people debating and such on there. If someone voices an opinion on the thread, they will want to return back to the site to see what others have to say.

Good call, I'm going to start customizing a forum for the site.
