Go mow some lawns this summer. Its probably one of the most basic personal type "businesses" anyone can start. I still do this every summer (also a college student), one because people need their lawns taken care of and aren't willing to do it, and two so I don't have to get a traditional job and am working for myself on my own time.

To me its a good reminder of how hard running a business is going to be, and keeps my mind on my ultimate goal of being financially free. Mowing a lawn for in hour in the middle of the SC heat is no joke lol, its hard work, just like running a real business would be. You also make a lot more money doing it than any other job you could probably find right now. I charge $50 for you average lawn, and work my way up from there. Yards rarely take longer than a hour to do, so your going to be making close to $50 an hour. Get 3-4 lawns to mow once a week, and you set. And then don't limit yourself to just mowing, do odd jobs/yard work in general.

    What to do?

For ideas that might give you a starting point, I'd recommend you read some of the home-based businesses submitted to StartupNation - Source for Small Business Advice, Help Starting a Business, Entrepreneur Forum and their "Top 100 Home Business" contest. You'll see some duplication of course, but the different ways that people have started a home-based biz may give you just the spark to fire up your own biz.

Home-based is key for you, when you consider that you'll be back in school full-time, and you don't need a store front with employees, inventory, etc. to worry about during the semester.

Since your field of study is business management, almost any successful business venture you start will give you credibility on your resume, along with any income you earn to help pay for school/living expenses.

A couple others recommended finding a mentor and I support that wholeheartedly. Find someone who has already blazed the trail in the field you want to pursue and they can help you avoid pitfalls and unnecessary expenses.

Good luck in finding the right opportunity for you.

Keep your main goal in mind and start saving or taking up jobs which will help you acquire enough money to start the business you are really passionaite about.
This is so true. Venturing into having your own business is one good decision wherein you don't have to work for others but you're going to apply all your knowledge and experiences to earn on your own. Definitely, by applying passion and interest, you could have a good start as you're enjoying every single detail on creating your own products, establishing value and conquering your greatest competition in the near future. It takes time to earn your first profits but still, once you enjoy everything, it will be as easy as learning continuously while you see your business growing.

Hi Charlie! I know how it feels to be in a business that you're not passionate about. But have you ever considered hanging out with like-minded folks, especially friends who can help you with the start money required for the business? This is what actually helped me turn my dreams into reality. Hope it does for you too!

    Be patient and hard working.

The true power of marketing is leveraging off others. Others with lists, with your audience and people that you can get to do you dirty work and pay them.

That is how I make good money online, and use clickbank also. Heck...you dont even need your own product to sell. Alot of people struggle with clickbank, but you can go over and have a look at the free video I have created in my sig file underneath. It is not that hard...u just have to read, study and apply....then rinse and repeat.
