    Nice work!

I hope to be there someday...

I launched my site exactly 1 week ago, and I currently have a rank of 4,357,954

Since that rank was updated we have gotten aroun 20 new members and lots of visits. I hope my site continues to grow!

    Good job.

Now, for the bad news. Alexa rank is absolutely meaningless.

I would be happy if your sales/revenue have also increased accordingly with the traffic rank - but otherwise, don't get too excited about it. Look at your traffic hits in your cpanel instead, or get Urchin from Google. It's far more meaningful and accurate.

I posted in another thread once - I went up to 192k in 1-2 months with a site. On another site, which I developed an optimized, our rank is about 1,300,000, but the site made over $2 million dollars last year. It really depends what your target audience is. If you're targetting web-savvy tech people, it's likely to be higher, because those are the types of people who are likely to have an Alexa toolbar. Otherwise, I wouldn't be too concerned about Alexa rank...be more concerned about your sales/revenue.

Most probably just different parameters/ways of measuring the traffic. Alexa is based on number of people who have an Alexa toolbar installed visiting your site. This number is much higher when your audience includes people who are online marketers, blog writers, e-commerce folks, stuff like that. In fact, you could boost that number quite a bit if you kept visiting your own site over and over, with the Alexa toolbar installed. There are even fake scripts people use to boost their Alexa rank.

On the other hand, if you're visitors are not really web-savvy, you won't do well with Alexa. I haven't used ranking.com before, so I don't know what they use...I'll check it out though. Overall, I think you best bet is using Urchin or Stat Counter, which you need to embed a code into your site for. CPanel is also good because it shows you where your hits are coming from.

Don't rely too heavily on your traffic rank. It's really not that important in itself. Check out the Search Engine Optimization Forum at DP for more pointers, lots of great info there.

Alexa ranking - well what norkal point out is all true however what some website owner fail to notice is that alexa help in the sense of getting new supplies. So it depend pretty much on the nature of your business. If you are a website that deal it providing a product or services than alexa is a big deal because that is where your supplier will have a big impression on your website. This is a common sense, just ask yourself if you got a product to be market or sell to a particular website, you will go for one with lower or higher alexa ranking? If you are asking me if you need to be concern on your alexa ranking, well it depend on the nature of your business, and looking at your website - One Stop place for Plumbing, Hardware, Electrical, Automotive, Garden, tools and Construction needs. then i guess you need to be concern about it if you plan to get more source for your product.

Its not actually 210 days, that is from the registration dates. Its only 3 months since the site is live.
What is more exciting is, I have a competitor , just 2 miles away from me , been around for 10 years, but only 60000 ahead of me on alexa ranking. Most like next week I will be ahead of him.
Which makes me think that 'Norkal' is some what right.
One thing is true that sales is growing consistently inspite of bad news about housing and economy.
Any way , I am still very happy, optimistic and excited.

Well done, the Alexa rank is a useful benchmark of whether your site is going up or down, but nothing is better than your own stats!

PS I didnt load your site up as it took a long time to load.....
