My Mixed Martial Arts site idea

I'm starting a MMA site and to get writers to write articles for the site I am starting to offer them to be able to have their own google "advertisements" displayed in their article. All they have to do is give me their google publisher id and the default advertisement size that I made up will be displayed in their article.

I'm looking for any fan of mixed martial arts who would like to write about it. I know there are ton of people who have their own opinions of certain fights, on proper fight techniques, etc... and whom would like to voice their opinion on this. My site will offer them to be able to voice their opinions, share their articles, make money of the advertisement in their article, and have our external marketing help promote their articles / content.

How do you think this plan will work out?

I have put up a ad on a site about offering this and I've gotten about 15 emails already from MMA fans who are interested.

    yeah....interesting opportunity...a little bit dated
what you wanna do is called a niche blog network
there have been mixed results in this space. some joints like weblogs inc got started and then sold out, some like blogher.com are still growing, others like buzznet.com and 9rules are failing..but mostly you'll notice that networks that were here in '06 are gone by now...for a lot of reasons. after all, it's consumer internet. new sites flop as quickly as they go up.

anyways, the key to success is money. you'll need 25k up to promote each blog...according to calacanis, who was the most successful guy in this space with weblogs inc

if you can't promote, the network will die...as hundreds of them have in the past 5-6 years

Just as a suggestion, I would go onto bloodyelbow.com , mmamania.com and try to recruit some writers from the forums that they have. Alot of the people on those two sites are very knowledgeable when it comes to mma and some are actually very good at writing articles. There are many fanpost articles there so you would be able to to be able to review some past arcticles as a reference.

Many of them would probably do it for free just to have there posts as a main article on a website they love it so much, so a chance at getting paid for it they would most likely jump at the opportunity.
