My marketing idea
Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while but I have a marketing idea and I would like to hear your opinions on it.
The overall concept is that I will create an online treasure hunt, basically I will get a group of sites 10-20 something like that, who would like to attract more visitors to their sites and hopefully gain more sales.
Then I will have visitors to my site, where these group of sites will be advertised, and the whole idea of a treasure hunt explained to the visitor.
Now onto the treasure hunt, the visitor will be required to look through each of the sites listed on my website, for a hidden treasure, when they find the treasure they click it and win a prize. Now amongst these group of sites, one of them has to give out a prize each time, so as to speak by having a group they are sharing the load for prizes. So for example site A would give out a prize Monday, and site B tuesday, but they are both still getting equal hits and potential sales, because by looking for an image representing treasure the visitor will be looking at their webpages in detail, including their products etc. This will benefit their sites hits and business hopefully.
Its a little unclear at the moment but that was one of ideas I have at the moment, feel free to criticize I would be most grateful for any feedback on this.
Thanks
Devitt

I think it is a great idea, a little bit of code is all they would need to stick on their page and visitors would come. The only downside i see is that the prize you offer would need to be big enough to encourage people to take the time to go through all the pages, but a prize that big may not be worth the actual value from the handful of visitors you get from it. Keep us informed on how it goes.

Hi All,
I tried that a few months ago and could not get advertisers/sites. Not to mean that you would not be succesfull.
I also tried it with an ebook. Nothing.
I have a good way to place clues and/or prizes on the sites. The clues/prizes would rotate much like a banner rotation script but more complex.

I like it
it's a good way to improve CTR and pageviews
say you have an electronics shop
you can use this kind of ad to not only get the prospect to your landing page, but to have them click through your entire site map

Hey
Thanks for the feedback, I believe I can make this idea unique more effective than any other business that may be doing the same thing because I have another good way of getting the businesses seen regularly, to do this I have a technique that I posted on this forum a few months back, that involves paper leaflets and ebay as a means of advertising.
I plan to integrate this idea with my older technique, then simplify the whole process as much as possible, to great one marketing scheme for businesses.
Here is the other idea I think I may integrate with this one. However, I have made changes and improvements to simplify it, I will post these at a later date
Will this advertising strategy work?
Many thanks for your comments
