not a legal eese kinda guy but if you are putting up pictures/contact info of minors I would be very careful and make sure you get some kind of parental consent.

For kids under 18, their parents must sign the contract.

this is not necessarily correct.

the issue is that of contracts and minors. there is case law and there is legislation. theere are rules, but there are exceptions and exceptions to exceptions.

get legal advice.

in most circumnstances, parents don't have to sign, provided several key conditions are met.

i wouldn't be concerned about legality of minors and contracts as much as I would concerned about the liability where a 13 yr old kid goes to babysit from a lead on this site and never comes home.

Yes, I have thought about that.

Like I said before, my target customers are Israelies of my community. So I pretty much know a lot of my customers already. When they make an appointment I will ask them a few questions in addition to me doing my own background check.

If that company in your signature is yours, you are doing kind of what I am doing. You are the middle man, bringing tenants and landlords to apartments. Is it your responsibility to what happens between a certain landlord and his apartment you have hooked him up with?

Just a thought. what about the safety of the babysitter themselves? Wouldn't this site be attract a lot of sexual criminals? Definitely need some kind of screening of those who's looking for babysitter.

It sounds like a good idea. (reminds me of 1-800-dentist)

But since minors are involved. Definitely spend more time on the legal issues involved.

Get yourself a HUGE disclaimer, get parents to sign contracts ...waivers ... their arm and their leg .... releasing you from any possible lawsuit.

There was a database like this in Calgary several years ago.

One of the girls was hired to babysit and they found her at the bottom of a lake a week later.

site

If you're site is going to be a huge success, it has to look better. It has to look professional. The current layout is somewhat confusing and lacks professional design. I know you just started it, and I'm not trying to offend you, only give you my honest opinion.

What you could really benefit from is a system by which each babysitter has a profile, which includes the things you currently have listed, but also their schedules, and a quick and easy form to contact the babysitter. this could send you the email first, which you then forward to them. It could also include a review system.

I use a similar system for my site www.landscapersbay.com but it runs on the regional level and thus you search by city, town, state, etc. etc. But it could easily be tuned down to serve a single city.

great idea

I think this is a great idea. Maybe I'll do the same with dog walkers in my area?

The site looks good, usable and if I had kids and lived... Wait, where do you live? You might want to put what areas they are willing to travel to or what cities your services cover.

Very neat!

I live around the Bay Area in California.

My business is doing pretty well now. I have about 5 babysitters working right now, including myself. My business is more like a big advertisment for me, and whatever times I cannot babysit I assign to others.

2 of the babysitters are working every work day for 3 hours. Thats $1.5 in my pocket for every hour.
