Exclamation MONSTER ENERGY take a look!!!

Ok, so iv'e had this idea for a while. I want to purchase a case of 30 MONSTER ENERGY DRINKS from Costco Wholesale marked at $1.25 per individual unit, them sell at my school for an awesome profit and easy cash. Iv'e triple-checked the school handbook. It only mentions the prohibition of selling a controled substance, which an energy drink is not.

Any ideas, words of wisdom, or criticism would be much appreciated(also some suggestions for a selling price would be good, thanks)

First off I would make sure that you are allowed to do that at your school. How would you keep the drinks cold?
I would sell them for at least a dollar profit, so you know that you are at least making something. If you price them too high people aren't going to want to buy, if you price them too low then you won't make any money. Once you get a few buyers the word will spread and you shouldn't have a problem selling them in the future.
Don't be too greedy when it comes to making money and don't change your prices. Find a price and stick with it.

If your school will allow you to do this then go for it. Good Luck

Good idea. Try it and see how it works out. I used to sell gum in junior high...made some nice profit too. lol Some kids would pay $5 for a pack that I bought for 50 cents.

You can sell anything... I helped my bro sell fireworks at school... we just charged everyone double of what we where getting it for and then had a shitload of free fireworks for ourselves... we didn't do it for a monetary profit... just to get free fireworks for ourselves.

I would say "Just do it"!! Its a very good idea and i think you should try it. If you fail learn from your mistakes and keep trying. Dont let anyone tell you what you can or cant do. I use to sell different gadgets in HS. I agree with consumertreehouse dont put the price too high when you sell them. Also i would always want my drink cold not sure about others. Well just try it and let us know how it went. Goodluck!!

You're gonna make a killing. I would try and keep the operations pretty small and under the radar. Your school won't be happy with it. When I was in middle school I used to sell candy and was racking in much more money than a 12 should be and principle made a school wide announcement and said the person selling candy would be suspended. Kids are always willing to spend more in school. Remember that.

Yeah, like everyone is saying go for it. If you want to be out in the open selling them then you would need to get the approval from the principal which wont happen unless your doing it for a good reason say, join a random club you like and say a certain percentage of profits will go to benefitting the club - that will not only bring in customers (from the particular club) but it would be a better chance of getting approved by the principal. You would have to work out some sort of schedule also when would you sale? In the morning before school started is a given but what about during the rest of school hours? When school lets out you could be in the area where people waiting for a ride are and during your lunch time you could sale then but what about the other lunch periods? or various times during the day? teachers aren't going to have you disrupt their class so you can earn money, you would have to do it in between classes which might be controversal if students start being late because of it. How are you going to keep them cold during the day? what about transporting from class to class?

Just saying what would have needed to have been done at my high school since there are teachers and rats everywhere and you would have gotten caught fast.

But good luck, if you can get a good plan down you'll make a ton.

Haha thats awesome. When I was a junior, I used to sell candy and capri suns. Always had two bags with me. Made $1,000 profit in 2 months by just going to school. Just be careful because it is actually illegal to resell products from Costco unless you have a business license. I doubt your school would take legal action but always be careful. Your school will also frown upon it too if they find out because then everyone would start selling items. Keep it to a few classrooms and start building from there. If you want to get smart find a freshman you can mentor and leverage your time by have him selling your goods to his classes while making a small profit for himself and eventually when he becomes a junior or senior he can pay it forward

    Good luck with your Monster

The thing I'm most concerned about is your product. Some energy drinks often have a warning label on them saying that one should only have a maximum of one or two per day.

Keep an eye over your customers, they are just kids like you. Too much of the wrong kind of energy drink will result in heart palpitations, which would lead you of course into a pickle.

    Careful with selling drugs

Monster has lots of caffeine. Some kids drink way too much, especially if they are already on ADHD meds. Your school might frown on selling drugs and that's pretty much what you are doing. I say it would be a great money maker, but consider the 'contributing to junkies' addictions part'. Do you really want to do that? My brother got caught doing that and the practice was banned.

Chances are you will get shut down pretty quick if you don't stay under the radar. Schools generally sign contracts with the cafeteria service companies that prohibit anyone else selling food. Also some states have laws against soda and energy drinks being sold in schools. Consider selling candy bars and gum too.

I used to do this selling Bawls energy drinks, you can find them in cases and this stuff will honestly sell way better then Monster because the bottles look cool and it is seems like something special to people.
Also I started this thing that actually got pretty popular and this is where I made most of my sales, Bawls also made caffeinated mints so what I would do is in the parking lot sell the drink and a couple mints like a package deal thing and what you do is drop the mint or mints in the drink and it fizzes a lot, so you have to basically be ready and shotgun the drink from the top. It was awesome kids were doing it in the parking lot everyday.

Thats a good way of getting into some trouble my friend!

First of all, your school most likely has an exclusive vending contract and this would cause a controversy (I was in the vending business for 10 years). They most likely signed a non-compete, so in this case you are competing.

    I would not attempt this.

-- But DO Attempt trying to get into the vending business. Just watch where you step.

I mean you most likely will get called out on it but you just have to decide if you can do it or not. You are the only one that knows your school, it worked good at my school and was actually what fueled me to keep going and do what I do. Do what you think is best but we all have to start somewhere.

One time the cafeteria ran out of ketchup for like a week so I brought like 3 bottles and charged 50c to use it and just set them along my table and made a quick 15-20 bucks. That got shut down after a day though.

you're in school... the worst that can happen is you get a warning and things go back to normal until you come up with another idea and get busted again lol
