I own myiparty.com, i would love to have a contest on who can get the most users over a 2 weeks span to sign up. How much money for a first second and third prize would be appropriate for a contest like this?

Depends on how many sign-ups you want Offer $1000 first prize and you might find people getting 50-100 sign-ups. Offer $50 first prize and people might not even bother with doing it.

If first prize was under $50 I doubt anyone would waste there time. Also look out for contestants making heaps of fake accounts just to win.

thanks, how about a $300 prize does that soudn to good? or would it be better to have 1st prize- $200 2nd-$75 3rd-$25?

I know i was aking about a referal scheme in another one of these threads. This would be much easier getting a referal scheme as it would enable people to make sure they get creditted for each signup whereas with your systme the signups might not be bothered to do so.

For example - Person Y - Gets 500 signups to your site but only 150 signups tell you then Person Y only gets creditted for 150 instead of 500 loosing out on 350 signups. With a referal scheme this wouldn't occur and the person wouldn't loose out on 350 potential signups and winning the prize. If you offered the refferal scheme this would solve this problem and wouldn't be that hard to add into your system.
