Okay, I'll take a shot at this. Realize I don't know the ins and outs, but . . .
Why not offer callers a discount and/or coupons they can use on your site (or even offline) and offer to email them to them? And also tell them the benefits of ordering from you (free shipping, warranties, etc.).
This could pique their interest so that after they do go the manufacturer, they might compare your offer to what they find there. And it might result in you getting the sale. Emailing the coupon (or coupon code) will provide a link so they know who to get back to you without making them have to write your website name down.
Might work.
