    MissUniversityOnline.com

    Hi all,

I've been on Facebook and it seems that every school contains Facebook groups with names such as "Hottest FSU Girls", "Penn States Finest" etc . . .

Now I'm thinking if there is a demand for legitimizing these groups into what would become the first series of online beauty pageants.

It would contain both a brick and mortar as well as an online presence and would start small at one university (I'm thinking my alma matter, Penn State). Synergies with Spring Break companies will be made to offer trips as awards where the winner(s) will go for free and then marketing campaigns will also be made at this spring break locations.

Other ideas are to contact local clubs and have a blow up party at the conclusion of a contest. Market and brand the winner and turn her into a university "celebrity". I've sketched web design plans that would allow contestant's to make videos adding music / etc . . . to match the theme of the contest.

I'm also thinking of contacting small/start-up clothing / beauty supply companies to provide additional awards / sponsorships. Other prizes could consist of text book $, etc . . .

After its a proven success at one school, growth potential would stamping the platform to other Big 10 schools and ultimately throwing a "Miss Big 10" and ultimately trying to grow to "Miss University" a national contest. Granted, this would require lots of resources and planning, however there could be potential.

I have more ideas that I'm looking to share. If anyone's interested in learning, or trying to turn this into a reality, please PM me.

    Thanks all.

This is a very good idea. Now that you have a good idea what would be the business model? Like how would you go about expanding this to every college in the country?

It's a great idea... its going to take a lot of work to get going but I think if you can find a way to market inside social networks (Facebook & MySpace) you could grow this pretty quickly. You need a sponsor who will exchange advertising for gift/prizes for the girls that enter. See if you can find someone from your Alma Matter who is willing to put up a trip (spring break) or cash... you could roll this into a pretty nice venture.

    Thanks all,

I've been brainstorming on this subject for quite some time. I agree that it does contain great potential if executed properly.

Any other thoughts, help, etc . . . would be appreciated
