Hi

In the last few hours i've been looking at websites for new materials and i've found some really interesting, cutting edge stuff but my question is, if I find a new material or technology how protected are these? Would they go onto the market so anyone can buy them wholesale or would they have exclusive rights to someone already? Basically how would someone go about selling on these new materials/technologies or incorporating them into a new product?
