Massage chairs idea!! get rich or I will die getting a massage for myself :(

    Hey guys!

This is the first time I´m going for an idea that has nothing to do with the internet. I haven't done anything yet but am seriously going for it and the chairs are arriving from China through an importer in 5 weeks! The idea goes like this:

I rent 10 massage chairs for a 36 month contract for 45USD each per month.

Then I go out to stores, beauty parlours, hair saloons, clothing shops where chicks go around and shop while their boyfriends/dads need to sit and relax etc.

I will try to sign a one year exklusive contract with the shop owners where it says that I will be the only one to have my chair. and then after each month, I share 40% of the profit with the owner. It doesn't cost him anything and its a nice extra service for the store's customers!

The chairs are black and very nice looking and fully automatic. for 1,5USD (you put in the cash in the chairs armrest) a person can get a nice massage for neck, back and legs.

Have any of you gone with this kind of idea? Do you have any tips??? there´s room for 3500USD worth of coins in each chair =)

Wish me luck! I definitely need it.

    Sounds like a good idea.

What is the turn around time for a chair with mechanical problems? Will you keep one or two chairs in reserve (in your garage, in other words) while the chair is being repaired?
Conservative opinions from someone who thinks a little differently than most.

Sounds good, although keep in mind that a number of the larger malls already have this, and tend to have the same brand of massage chairs. You can, of course, focus on small, independent malls and shops by they might not have as much traffic. I think it's a good idea but just needs to be thought through properly - take a look at your competition and see what they don't have that you can offer. If they pay a flat fee to the malls, make sure that 40% of profits can compete. If they only do back and neck, see if you can get different chairs that do more. Good luck!

I haven't thought of that though.. hmmm I was hoping that the chairs would stay problem-free... But again, I think that the company that I'm renting them from would fix any mechanical problems.. because they have a 2 year long guarantee.. But I will check that up! Thanks for the advice.

I was walking around in a large mall today to look for opportunities. The problem with a mall is, that people are moving all the time, no one has time to sit down and relax for 10minutes while getting a massage in a chair it seems. If they sit down, its to have a coffee or eat. What I'm thinking about now is to find dentists and beauty saloons and other places where you have to sit and wait for your turn.

Larger companies is another option where you could have one but the problem is that maybe one person would try it ONCE, and then never again. Thats why places like dental clinics and other places where people have to sit and wait anyways are better I think where new people come and go all the time..
    Thanks for the input!

    Cheers!

I use those at the mall all the time when I'm shopping with female friends (don't use the word 'chick' if you want to be taken seriously). You need to have a well thought out maintance program if you are going to have this product open for public use. You also need to consider delivery fees and insurance. If someone is sitting in one of your chairs and hirniates a disk... you may have a problem.

I would look up the person who owns the chairs in a local mall and call them. Pretend to be a salon looking to rent a few. Ask them all the questions you'll need the answers too (maintance, delivery, cost, and insurance). You'll have all the info you need to move forward after that.
