Smart marketing is all about investing your time and resources where it will benefit you most. Period. For example, I really have to do very little advertising, because my target audience are members of this and other Internet marketing forums. I benefit greatly from forum marketing, so it's worth it to me to take time out of my day to post on various forums, because of the ROI. Maybe other marketers don't do as well on forums. But because of the nature of my business, I do extremely well.

You can use software such as Friend Blaster Pro to add friends that are members of groups that are related to your business. Just randomly adding people to your profile probably won't produce any results.
