    Marketing Niche Product

I am planning to wholesale a niche product that is newly invented.

Do I need to do the marketing before selling the product to see how customers think about my product?

Or, do i just launch business to start selling immediately?

In other word, marketing before selling or marketing and selling at the same time?

I already researched the market that i am in, but i am not sure that customers will like my product.

Since my product is niche and unique, I don't know how to do market research successfully. There is no case that this kind of product is successfully sold before.

    please help me young entrepreneurs!

Without knowledge of the product and industry, it is very difficult to even try to provide guidance. Some products require very little marketing (food), whereas others require high amounts of marketing prior to selling (cars).

Marketing encompasses a lot more that where you will sell and how you will do it. It is a plan and to be able to answer your marketing questions with more accuracy, you need to know who your customer's are and why they would NEED your product. If you have not explored this, how do you know what to say to your customers when you try to sell to them?

When you do your research, see if you can find substitutes for your product and if there are some, who buys that product and why? Have you asked people whether they would buy it and if so, how does it solve their problems and make their lives better.

My two cents: Your marketing plan comes before the sales cart.

Well, it's rather simple in a sense. The question to ask yourself when trying to figure out if a product will sell or not is... "Does this product: Save people time, save people pain, or save people money?" I'm sure you've heard it before, but that's the basis of all product generation and marketing. Just watch tv. Anytime you see an infomercial it qualifies as one of the three options above.

I would advise you test this out, first though. I'm not saying just throw it out there, have a specific marketing plan, but just do it on a smaller scale at first. This will give you time to improve the product, so when you make your huge launch, the product will be the best it can be.

    Hope all goes well.
