    Marketing an iPhone app

I am about to launch an iPhone app in about two weeks. Has anyone marketed an app yet? I have a few plans, but curious to see if anyone has been down this road yet?

facebook and twitter seems to be best channels nowadays for mobile apps. also you could consider mobpartner affiliate program if it's paid app.

I am currently involved in marketing an iPhone app for kids - Kinder Hangman so we currently apply the following online advertizing methods: posting at topic related blogs and forums, submission to social bookmarks like Digg, Delicious and others, submission to iPhone app review websites. After a few mothes of advertizing the interest in the product has raisen in 2-3 times. Hope my tips will help you in marketing iPhone app.

Selling through Apple themselves is probably the best bet. They take 25% but you get guranteed viewers on the apple store. There are certain agents who can make your app more pro and take to apple/market for you.

Thanks for the advice guys. We definitely have the things mentioned in the plan and look forward to the launch. I'll input some tips in this thread once we have it launched.

If you can afford PPC campaign then there is lot of networks available, like Buzzcity, inMobi, etc.
I would not deal with Admoda (bad experiences) and people are telling that Admob also have gone to be worts now being owned by Google.
New networks are Adfonic, Greystripe but I do not know how good they are.

I would say that PPC campaign is not cost-effective for cheap apps which cost less than $1 because it works until you pay for it. In some cases it is better to perform search engine optimization for website pages describing iPhone app and providing a link to appstore.
