    Making Money/Investing Small...Where to start?

Hi, I want to introduce myself, Basically I'm interested in business, and becoming an entrepreneur I am 20 years old and from London. I have a few thousand saved up and I want to invest It.

Firstly I know a few thousand is not going to give me a big pay check anytime soon, I want to start off small even if it's right at the bottom. I was thinking buying wholesale products and selling it online. I have tried designer clothes but it is not very lucrative.

I was wondering if some of you can give me tips, help and ideas for a young and ambitious entrepreneur on where to start.

I'm not sure about investing in business as it would cost me alot more than I have to lose. I don't mind buying and selling and selling as a starter.

    Thanks for your help,

You need to find something new or at least at an early stage. The clothing industry is just so saturated. Get off what is already popular and get on the cutting edge.

As you have mentioned in your 1st post the word 'Investing' a possible reliable facilty as you are in the UK is use your money on Zopa i have the maximum allocation with them and also my wife which is £100k the compound returns that i am getting at the moment is 8.75% for doing absolutly nothing this is far better than just a few percentage points if you are lucky with a bank and i can get access to my money in under a week. This is just a thought,i do have many other business ventures as well but you want to find something unique and thats the trouble if someone has found something good and profitable they wil tend to keep it low profile.Good luck with your new venture what ever you choose.

Just one question do you currently have a job or are you without a job at the moment as this situation could change your requirements.

You need to sell something that is niche perhaps. Of course with your savings its impossible to have a brick and mortar store. Have you tried ebay yet? I heard that some dropshippers are pretty good but I don't think any ebay seller profiting from it wants to share.

I would say the best thing to do right now is buying sites, it is really lucrative as the established sites do make a decent amount of money, you can go to Flippa to search for the sites, it is one of the finest places to invest in web properties
