    Arrow Making a website

I need to hirer someone to make a website and maintain it and wanted to know how much I should pay for it. It will be a pay-per-view site with memberships and member only areas. I also want to have public access areas. there will be a lot of videos and updates every week or so. (u probably know what kinda site by now). How much would it cost for someone to build the site and how much would i pay to update the website.

You could pay as little as $50 or as much as $250,000. You can not get an accurate quote with that small amount of information, and anyone guaranteeing you a price based off of the info you posted, is a shiester.

You should really consider creating a bullet list of all the pages, content and features you want the website to have. A flowchart that specifies "When user clicks "login" is takes them to screen 50A. If the password is wrong, it taken them to screen 50B with status message 'failed login'".

People can help you write the requirements list, but be prepared to pay for this. If you are serious about your business and truly believe it will be prosperous for you, paying for requirements should not be a problem for you. That cld cost you a few hundred dollars to a few thousand. I bet you site is at a point where a spec could be written for a few hundred.

Yeah, it sounds like a pain in the butt, but the only way you can get a real reliable quote without spending megabucks is to write a detailed specification or requirements list.

Anyone that comes along and says they can get you a custom website for $50 or $100 to do this, be very very cautious. I have never heard of a success story from someone looking to do what you seem to want to do for such a small amount (although I see offers here on YE all the time for that).

Post more requirements and I am sure more people will be able to help you out more competently. Good luck.

You can also look on getafreelancer.com and post your requirements for the site (as the previous poster mentioned)

You should get a good amount of freelance web designers to bid on your project which will give you a ballpark figure of how much you will need to pay someone (whether you choose a freelancer from the site, or find one elsewhere)

There are also free website makers online. The site just retains a link on the bottom.

If you're serious about generating leads, making money, and truly understanding your online business and website - it's going to cost. Free sites, or cheap sites, are exactly that. Many people just throw up a website, looks good, then they wait... and wait... and then don't understand why they're not getting any orders or traffic! This is an area where you shouldn't be cheap - but also be careful, because there are some guys out there who over charge, over promise and under deliver.
How do you become successful? Help others reach their dreams and goals.

If you want you can check out Vaiz Enterprises then send me an email chris@vaiz.org to discuss it further. it all depends if you want it professionally done by an established company or just a freelance guy. freelance is cheaper but you will most likely burn through a few of them and they are unreliable on average. Companies may cost more, but offer better product and alot more stability and professionalism, again on average.
