Magazine Entrepreneurs.

Is there any entrepreneurs, on here, or out in the business world, who have made money from magazines?

I was just wondering if it is a good business and any tips/advice you may have on it.

hi, i have a magazine, but i just started so i don't have fix result, but i believe that this kind of business is good enough, and i'm confident if you found the right segmented market, it should be more than good....

Have you seen The YES Movie? (same name as website) There is a part in the movie, where Dan Caldwell talks about how he created a multi million dollar magazine with one idea. This movie rocks, it is all about young entrepreneurs.

My last venture was in magazines, specifically we produced financial trade publications and inflight magazines for several of the major North American and European airlines. As far as if its a "good business", it really pertains to the niche you go after and your distribution or readership as that is what determines your advertising revenues ultimately.
I have found that the business is either about providing superior content to your readers in a new and exciting way or having a distribution area that is a desired demographic by companies.

If you want to start a general magazine, id recommend starting online with a newsletter or something similar until you have a decent readership and can attract advertisers. Also printing a good magazine will cost you, and dont forget about distribution that can be even more expensive than printing.
