Looking to start my own business.. grade 12

Hello all.. i have been scammed before business dealing with China so that is out of the question currently.. i'm looking to get directly connected to manufacturers to sell sd mini/micro/regular memory cards...

also.. i'm interested in selling electronic accessories and bluetooh devices.. i've done lots of research.. but i always come up short.. in addition I want my initial investment to be under 200.. so for example 20-25 memory cards.. of course i've done my planning but too much to just lay out right now..

    any advice would be appreciated.

the margins in this sorta stuff is not big.

You do not make much from a 200 dollar investment. Maybe 25 dollars?

Im not sure exactly, but you wouldnt make alot.

well let me use arbritary numbers..

say for example i buy 25 memory cards retailing at $25 each.. but for only $8-10.. and selling them for about 15.. that is about a $125 profit.. on a lot of 25.. i know it's not great.. but.. i've been really dedicated and passionate about starting a business for a while.. but i keep coming short on plans.. and anywhere i seek help people give me the 'almost help' where they don't want to share the full thing and say blah blah stay motivated..

You won't find a manufacturer for these, especially buying only 25. You won't get wholesale prices for only 25 pieces. You won't find them for $8-$10 each. The manufacturers aren't going to sell directly to some kid only 25 pieces, they don't care about the $250 you have. As it's said in the business field; you are a price taker, not a price maker. You have no chance of getting this price, you are too small.

One thing you need to know about import/export business is that you always need to build long-term business relationship with your suppliers and buyers. Start small and your business would grow depending on how much effort you put into it. I am currently involved in import/export its not easy but after you build a relationship with the supppliers or manufacturers it would be much easier and you would not have to worry about buying in large moq if they think you have a great potential of doing business with them in the future.

Yes so what i was scammed before but i learned alot and i was glad it happened to be even though i lost money it was worth every penny because i would have lost alot more if i did not take the time to research suppliers, learn from my mistakes etc. Stay motivated spend time in building a client base not only in your market in other countries as well because some stuff that you can get in your home country can sell in other markets as well.

Always read books on import/export, selling, marketing etc dont stop reading because knowlege is power when it comes to any business. Well goodluck and stay focus and learn from your mistakes. Dont care about how much profit you would make when you start look at the positive side of it. What will you learn and what challenges you can overcome when it comes in dealing with a product that can bring a higher profit margin.

    Best Regards

i agree with you ,most manufacturers don't sell themselves or at small amount, usually they just dedicate to manufacture ,they need many wholesalers to market their goods,of course, maybe few not,but it's hard to find out them.

Those prices for SD cards (depending on the specs) i'd say would be fakes. The retail stores selling these memory cards are not making much profit from the cards alone.

PM me, i may have a source you would be interested in.

    I agree,

also, you are solving a problem that doesn't exist. People can already go to the store or online to buy memory cards. You need to offer something new to the industry. Maybe you can sell cool memory card containers or key chains. That is something that the big guys don't do or sell at a convenience.

yes, i agree with u. it is hard to find a manufacturer as to ur order quality. so u will have to find a wholesaler without MOQ(minimum order quantity). although u was scammed before, not all of Chinese suppliers are scams. i have been dealing with a Chinese wholesaler for two years, no problem has happened.

    Ali,
I like your entreprenuership. You will definetely succeed if you persist in your ventures. However, why don't you look at other streams of income as well. I mean other than import export.
I run an online education business marketing courses from home as well as teaching others how to earn a real passive income from it. Have a visit to my site and see how it works. If you find it hard, do drop me an email.

    TOO MANY connections in CHINA!

I am an entreprenuer and doing business with China for a long time. I usually buy and sell large volume products and supply nationwide chains in the US.
I am looking for computer knowledge enterprenuers to make certain ideas alive on the internet.

China is a tricky country to make a business but not all suppliers are same.

I would like to cooperate with young enterporenuers if they have valid ideas.
