looking to make my site an empire in 11 months

my goal is to make my site (www.definedsports.com) an empire by my 20th birthday, i launched it on Nov 5 of this year, have made $500 profit so far. I'm restocking my inventory right now and will have 500+ products by this saturday. Any tips? thoughts? I want this to be an absolute empire by my 20th birthday (Nov 5, 2010), i'm willing to put in time, effort, whatever it takes. I have the best prices on the web, i've sold through amazon, promoting my site a little bit. Please reply with ideas and thoughts.

What have you done in the way of promoting it so far ???

i've done some facebook/myspace profiles adding people in sports cards/autographs/memorabilia groups having them email their favorite teams/sports/players etc and that i will keep them updated on our inventory.
i've done some craigslist stuff which has done really well for me, made about 20 sales in 10 days on CL
thats about it so far

When you say empire, what exactly do you mean? Is there a more tangible goal you have in mind, such as $X in sales, or Y number of customers?

I think for an empire, you need more than a site fetching you $500.
Don't forget, patience is a virtue !
I would suggest you to get more such sites, it would speed up the process of making an empire.

I wouldn't say that is an unreasonable goal, but you will have to work very hard to achieve it! And also master the art of decisive marketing

you are going to need to look very hard into SEO. what knowledge do u have of SEO at this point and time so we know what we can work with and go from there.

You are making the right steps and asking some good questions. Marketing is the KEY to accomplishing your goals by then.

I would like to start this off by saying none of this is meant to be harsh I'm just pointing out somethings.

When i looked at your site you had a total of five things for sale(A couple packs of cards and two hobby boxes). Trying to attain the goal of 100k by next year and all you have is that seems very unlikely. The site also looks like it might need a professional touch.

If you really want to make 100k in sales you are going to have to get a professional design, look extensively into SEO, and carry more of a stock
