    Looking for suggestions: www.postdirtylittlesecrets.com

To be honest, I'm new to the whole business of profiting from content and adsense, but I've launched one anyways

    POST Dirty Little Secrets

I've loaded a ton of adds from adsense and some from CPA campaigns at Hyrda Media.

I'd love and appreciate any feedback or suggestions from the forum!

funny comments... your site seems to be 80% ads and not everything has to do with your content. You need to make your content more prominent on your site.

good start, these products (i.e. grophug) have a decent track record..although, there's a lot of failures too (whisperasecret.com)

the only key to success that seems to stand out (from a feature set perspective) is the use of images to go with the content that's posted (i.e. postsecret). the other feature additions such as use of categories, voting and comments don't seem to correlate with success

i think...the over all theory is this...the actual content (i.e. the secret it self) is not what draws people to the site and keeps them coming back. simply put, it gets boring to hear the same old "i peed on my gf" crap over and over again. it's crass, it's uninteresting, there is no way to tell if it's true and you can't interact with the person who wrote it...on another hand, what keeps people coming back to postsecret is not the secret..but the way people tell the secret. the images that they use..the amount of time and effort they put into expressing something that's surely gotta be true and not some fantasy.

so finally; I think, you'll do well if you implement some sort of a flash/wysywig editor that gives your users more ability to implement original, visual expressions of their feelings..it will keep your users coming back and promoting your site by being able to share the images with others..through facebook or whatever. that's your secret to success based on the case studies that i have covered here

think of implementing a slide.com type editor which lets anyone use template and preset visual effects to make really cool, original pictures, which are then shared amongst friends and posted on superwall etc

Thank you, this is exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. I hadn't considered the use of images, but I did feel it needs something more to make the posts stand out.. I hadn't heard of whispersecret.com but it seems to share the same blandness.. It will be fun trying to make it more interactive...

Thanks for the feedback! I'd also love to hear ideas on how to optimize the ads to fit better with the content.

I loaded custom slide guestbook and it makes it a little more interesting but it still needs some jazz.. Would like to be able to change the fields in the guestbook, remove the word 'guestbook' and give them some preset images to upload..
