    Retail question? Dropship or stock?

Hey guys i wanted to know if anyone here knows of any reliable great drop-shippers that carry extreme sports brands like Hurley, Volcom, Billabong, Quicksilver, Audio, and more?? I have been looking buy yet to find anyone.

Or in this market would carrying inventory just be the way to go? If so who do i contact? a distributor or the companies themselves about stocking their products? are their any limits to who can stock their products and how much i would have to order?

I only know of one dropshipper that has any of those and they suck. Actually there is another, but they aren't a real dropshipper and there is no way to compete with what they charge.

Stocking the product is going to require a hefty amount of startup capital because it is such a trendy market that you need to have a huge selection for people to use your site.

Another option to start up cheap is to do an affiliate site, there are plenty that will give you 10% and up of every sale and you will instantly have thousands of products. You can get the site up for next to nothing and build up your web presence/traffic and save some money to get going with your own stock.

I doubt these products are dropshipped. You would probably be best off looking for distributor of these products, if you do not have an established store you will probably have trouble convincing these big brand companies to sell you their products.

Call the companies up, ask them who their distributors are. If they use a distributor, the distributor might drop ship. For your opening order on accounts, they will most likely require you to make an opening order purchase at X dollars.

If you carry inventory you'll need enough $$ to get a wide variety of products.

Can you give some examples of some good affiliate sites?

Well two off the top of my head would be ccs and the house both are good merchants, just sign up for linkshare, they have a bunch of snow/skate/surf industry affiliates.

It is rare to find one that has an in house program, usually they go through a third party

    shareasale
    linkshare
    commissionjunction
    clixgalore

These are all sites that you can sign up for for free and they have many affiliate merchants.
