First of all let me introduce myself since I am brand new and all.
My name is Matt Elias and I am a 24 year old who is/was living in Chicago, IL, however am in the process of relocating due to work with a ongoing political campaign.
That said let me describe the situation I currently find myself in. About 7 months ago I decided to launch a venture - I wanted to do a web-magazine/blog style publication that catered to the "Millennial" demographic.
That is how HyerStandard dot com was born. While I focus mainly (in the name of full disclosure) politics and breaking news with a left of center slant, I also update multiple times daily breaking sports, entertainment, etc. stories that would be of interest to the group I am targeting.
My site is doing alright, I have reached a Page Ranking of 5, and a decent Alexa rating (341,324), with my daily traffic increasing steadily. I have also taken the steps and successfully LLC'd HyerStandard in the state of Michigan, so it is as legit as it possibly could be at this juncture.
However I have reached a point where I can no longer put in the full time effort of writing, maintaining, networking, advertising, etc. this is due to my new job which will conclude in November.
Basically I am inquiring about any ideas, solutions for me in terms of selling a portion of the site, selling the site altogether (something I really do not want to do), or bringing on partners who could take over the basic Search Engine Optimization management, and advertising, which with the lifted strain would allow me to still write full time.
Should I try to find investors to hire people? Or not? I am totally clueless as to what I should do - all I know is that I have to make a decision fast because I start on Tuesday.
Please feel free to PM me with any questions, suggestions, feedback - All will be so appreciated, seeing as though the clock is ticking and I am still standing still in regards to my sites future.
Thanks,
Matt
