Looking for a manufacture

I am about to graduate from school and I've been researching for a clothing manufacture in NY that can make urban wear like "Laguana Beach" "Robin Harris" and "Monarchy".

I'm looking to start a denim company with a tailored urban edge.

I'm essentially starting from scratch, so I want to get all the details in what I need to get done in order to start a clothing company with names and prices.

I've found some lists of manufacturers from basic searches, but all the results are trying to sell lists for hundreds of dollars, and I need some of those hundreds to start the company.

If anyone has any advice, or can direct me to somewhere I can find a list of manufacturers in NY, or has any other insight into the clothing/fashion industry it would be much appreciated.

I know of a broker in the NYC area that works with a factory out of Sri Lanka. They work on clothing for the Gap, Abercrombie, and Victoria's Secret. PM me and I'll get you his contact details- he'd probably be able to help point you in the right direction.
