Looking for a business partner - webdesign a plus - serious inquiry

I'm a young entrepreneur that is looking for someone to partner up with that has website programmer/design skills or access to someone that does.

I had a brainstorm for a website, have the domain name for it, but don't have the time or money to implement it.

I'm willing to go 50/50 with someone that wants to get involved. My idea is related to this website:

The Big Word Project - Your websites define our words > Welcome

I'm looking for someone to be able to design/implement a website pretty much exactly like the above - but obviously not with "words". (this is where the brainstorm comes in)

I'm looking for serious inquires only. Please PM me if there is any interest on your part.

I can't afford to pay anything at the moment,(the reason why I'm looking for a partner at 50/50 split, rather then hiring a designer and keeping it all for myself.) due to I'm currently putting in all my resources into getting my BLACKOUT DRUNK/BLACKOUT SKUNK franchise off the ground. (See index for more info)

But like I said, I have the domain name already, I have webhosting access with yahoo small business, I just need someone to desgin the site & get it up and running. We can then split everything & anything that follows.

Thanks for your time & consideration

You should be looking for a partner that will be used not as FREE work , but someone that knows business. Just my 2 cents.

If you are looking to make it as an entrepreneur perhaps you should have a brainstorming session to come up with your own project ideas? Blatantly stealing someone else's idea and then trying to slightly change it to make it your own will not earn you any respect in the business world.

Easy they're killer...you don't even know what the idea is yet! So before you go about posting how I'm "blatantly stealing" your idea, maybe you should wait (ar ask) for more details....

Now that I think about it...are you kidding me?? Come up with your own project ideas? Do a quick google search my friend...I would hardly say that "your" idea is so unique. Wired Magazine(that featues your site this month) itself mentions how your site is "reminiscent of the Million Dollar Homepage" - should people not give you respect for your take on it??

Why don't you wait tilll you actually know something more then a proposely vague forum post before you get all high & mighty - my idea has NOTHING to do with words - so relax & grow up.

I apologise for my frank response but we have had so many copycats after we launched our project. We worked extremely hard to create the concept and the website and understandably feel quite cheated when we read:

I understand that everyone needs to get inspiration from somewhere but perhaps it was just the way I read your post, it sounded like you were copying our idea.

No biggie, sorry I snapped back at you. I understand how my post would lead you to believe I was trying to make a copycat site - but please believe me though when I say the post was looking for more of someone that can implement the same type of format/design/programming etc - and not one that wants to sell links & definitions to words.

While I got your ear though, do you mind if I PM you my thoughts on what I'm looking to do? Since my idea WAS directly inspired by seeing the article in Wired, and since I'm extrememly slammed at the moment trying to get my BLACKOUT franchise off the ground, I think it REALLY could go well as a "sister" site to Big Word and that you guys seriously might be interested in partnering up.

I know you guys are probably fielding dozens of calls trying to get in "bed" with you two, but since you already have the design/programming/website stuff worked out, it would be extremely easy to adpat your existing stuff to this idea & I would be more then happy to let you guys run with it for maybe a small percent "finders fee" or something- for lack of better word.(no pun inteneded) :-)

Let me know if I can send you a PM & I'll throw a quick note on my ideas - I think you'll see that this would be the perfect companion to what you already got going.

Honestly, that was the most adult-like conversation I've ever seen on YE. I'm thoroughly impressed with how TheBigWordProject and Axcreations handled themselves after only a few words of aggression were thrown back and forth. I think everyone should read this post and take something positive away from it.

Thats fine, sure send us a PM on your thoughts, although we are not really thinking about working on other projects at the minute. It's already a full time job with the big word project and all our other commitments.
