    Logistics

    Hi!

I am about to become the agent and wholesaler of a clothing brand. However, I don't have any experience in this field of business.

My plan is to receive a selection of clothes from the company, and show the clothes to different retailers. I am a good seller, so I don't think there will be a problem making them interested. But what happens after I have a deal with a retailer? What about the orders and payment? Do the retailers usually only pay for the clothes they sell? When do I pay the clothing company? And how much of the final price in stores should I earn? When it comes to shipping I would like to know of cheap options. The clothes will be sent from Australia to Europe.

    Looking for advice!

    Thanks everybody.

After 20 visits and no response, I see that the thread might be a little confusing.

What I would like someone to do is to explain the procedure of getting clothes from the manufacturer to the consumer, with focus on payment.

Is there anyone in this forum who can tell me?

I'm not sure what your relationship with the manufacturer is but you would need to find out what their procedure for payment is. Most retailers buy a product and then sell it. You don't wait for them to sell a product before you are paid. They buy a certain amount, they sell it and if they dont they simply dont buy from you anymore. As far as your earnings. If you are an outside contractor, you would need to negotiate a rate with the buyer that allows a commision for you. Unless the manufacturer has worked one in, which i highly doubt they have.

There really isn't a way to help you with this. I find it a bit disconcerning that a manufacturer would aprove you as a wholesaler. They usually will not waste their time with those that do not have a proven track record.

    good luck all the same.

    Enjoy Life,
    Nick
