LLC only applies to America

The term LLC is an american term for a Limited Liability Company. In the UK we have PLCs (Public Limited Companies) and LTDs (Private Limited Companies)

PLC - In the UK, a public company limited by shares and having a share capital, and which may offer shares for purchase by the general public. Only PLCs may qualify for listing or trading on the London Stock Exchange.

LTD - is a type of limited company, with liability limited to the capital invested, i.e. by the sale of shares. In other words the shareholder's personal assets are protected in the event of bankruptcy but they will lose the capital invested in their shares. (Shares are sold to friends and family)

Australia doesn't seem to have anywhere near as many options.

Found this on a website:

Most companies fall into two categories, depending on the type of liability that can be imposed on the owners:

* A company limited by shares, limits the liability of shareholders to the value of their shares. This structure is suitable for most trading businesses and can be a private company or a public company
* A company limited by guarantee, most often used by non-trading organisations, for example, sporting clubs.

Actually Australia has as many types as the UK does and is infact modelled around the British system.
