    Angry LeBron: The next Buffett?

"Whether LeBron James can ever become the next Michael Jordan, he's aiming for even greater off-court success: becoming the first billionaire athlete." (http://money.cnn.com/2007/06/14/comm...ion=2007061511)

Its good to actually see an athlete wanting off-court success other then feeding off their fame for their athleticism. So I respect LeBron for that... now being the next Billionaire, I am not quite sure being off court, maybe if he takes the money from one contract and take a risk of letting Warren Buffet manage it for him and giving Warren a chip of the money, then maybe he'll become an off-court billionaire. But for right now, IDK.

But you have to respect the guy for trying...

He could definitely become a billionaire. Don't let his occupation fool you.

^^ I agree, thats what I'm saying... just because his occupation gives him fame, not always does it lead to fortune... remember that

It's bound to happen if he maintains current salary levels and has investments.

LeBron and Buffett are best friends. They spend a lot of time together, and LeBron is said to learn a lot from Buffett, so that's why the article makes comparisons between the two.

^^ I was addressing the issue when you said "WHO CARES....?" sound like you was kind of knocking the possibility of him being able to so yeah... my fault if it offended you but I mis-understood.

How do you become a billionaire? Find one that is willing to teach you and do exactly what they tell you. LeBron is doing just that.

If not Lebron then Tiger will probably be the first Billionaire athlete. It seems to be a race between the two . Lebron has to things in his favor 1. Age and 2. which should be 1 the Oracle in Omaha

May be not the one to be the first athlete billionaire, but who actually will become one at some point. Tiger Woods has age advantage because he can play Golf as long as he can up to possibly age 65 and LeBron will probably retire at 35. Michael Jordan I think is worth about 4-5 hundred millions right now and growing.

^^ I agree with usakos... Michael Jordan is still making money, even after retiring... one word... Jordans (sneakers) --- need I say more, its like every place you turn its either Jordan's or Air Force One's and they are about tied... Jordan will continue to grow well into the future. LeBron has his own shoes out but he hasn't (athletically) made a SOLID name for himself... yet!

Yes, also Jordan is part owner of an NBA team, Charlotte, Carolina, and he has other businesses, but too Lebron hangs out with the likes of Buffett and you know Buffett is a best friend of Bill Gates, so i am sure they all jet out somewhere and discuss about billion dollar stuff, so leBron is in good hands though.
