Thumbs up Learn German Online!

I'm 14 and very interested in starting a business. Although I'm only a teenager and not exactly rich, I am curious about the online business industry. I am looking into running (but first of all designing and making...) my own business online which teaches children to speak German.

I believe learning and being able to speak another european language is a great skill for anyone in the world. The skill of being able to speak a completely diffrent language is very valuable and useful and should be considered by many. It has been proved to show that it is easier to learn a new language whilst still young than it is when you have reached an adult age.

I do not know where to start but at the moment I am just designing a template for a website of this interest. I am also thinking of a price to charge for the teaching of German and things like that. I would love to start this online business.

Please post any ideas, suggestions or comments on here. I would really appreciate...

You would need someone to program an interactive system for learning the language. I'm sure that would cost a lot. So a lot of money would be good.

Hi dear,

instead of designing a template first, why dont you first try a dummy online student for teaching. how well you can tell and how well he can grasp. first explore then start. try a messenger in the beggining. and the note down wot all features you would need in the interactive program.

regards

prerna

Hi kido,

maybe I can give you a tip.

I rember when I was your age, running a business was impossible unless your friends were doing it with you...'caus you know...you don't wanna be the only one stuck doing everything when all your friends are doing something else.

Try to ask your mom, or a relative (or you could do this yourself) and organise a sort of a party so you can present your vision to your friends and start working on this together.

If you were a bit older, that'd be called building a team, leadership or recruitment. So these are really important skills (bringing people together) and now is a good time to start getting the hang of it.

Whether it's a little tutoring business, or a multinational corporation, everything starts with one person putting a team around a shared dream. You can kick this off with a night of pizza, videos and a presentation for what it is you'd like to get done.

Have fun. At this stage, that's all that's important.

Thanks for the information Akula, although I dont think this would be possible because the friends that I have wouldnt at all be interested in the Learn German Online business. If anything at all, they would take the micky! So I don't want to involve my friends. Relatives- yes! But friends- a big no no!

Thanks for the info. anyway

Hey,
I have been learning bits and pieces of languages all my life. Currently I am fluent in English and Vietnamese. And I am currently in Germany for a year. The way foreign language that was taught in the schools I attended sucked. There was no way anyone can or could learn a language from it. The best way to learn a language is through constant using and hearing. I think with a online program you can only teach grammar and important vocabulary but the vocabulary must come through speaking and practice. Just some insight. I had little to any German before I came here but it's only been 3 months and my German is well good, I just need to learn more vocabulary. Hope this helped
Viel SpaB,
-Henry

I understand your views and aggree that there is nothing better than being in the country of the language itself and speaking it regularly. My aim is to teach young children how to speak German and give them a valuable skill for getting on in life. That skill is very useful, especially if they follow it up and carry it on with life because for many proffesions, a language is needed (eg. a GCSE in a language is needed to be a teacher). Also, a person who can speak another language is given more respect from people like family and friends because it is a hard thing to learn another language and not many people can. That is my aim for my website.

You can get some VoIP software with your students if you want them to pratice speaking.

I am not talking down on your idea, but it will take FOREVER to teach a young child on the net. German is a very tough language with some very confusing grammar rules.
