investing in stocks is like throwing darts at a board.

save your money and invest time in educating yourself about internet marketing or something.

You should do your homework before you come at somebody like that, or else you end up looking foolish (case in point).

I buy a couple hundred bucks worth of silver every month (commodity investing).

Thanks for the laugh kid.

Can anyone suggest some good reading to learn about the market? Not looking for strategies or systems, just something with the facts, the terminology, like a crash course...

Even though I know very little about the market, I might add that how the market works is opinionated and different people will tell you different things.

What should you get into now? You can get a 100 different answers from 50 people.

Why are gas prices high now? Again, 100 answers.

The answer depends on whom you're asking and each person with an answer will give you what seems like the most expert/authoritative answer you can find. Everyone is sure of his or her answer.

Oh yes, if I am going into the stock market, I am going to start with penny stocks. I can already hear the boos, but penny stocks might be a better alternative for someone with very little to start with. I don't know this to be fact, but it's worth trying despite the fact that almost everyone (including the more seasoned people) discourage others from trying penny stocks.
