LCD touch screens in taxi

Salut fellow entrepreneurs!

Couple months ago I was studying in China and I noticed that in many taxis they have interactive touch screens filled with lots of useful information for passengers and also with advertisements.

I live in Toronto and here I have never seen anything like that and I have made some surveys and people I asked never have seen it either.

I have contacts with couple taxi companies here in Toronto and each has more than a 100 cars in their fleet. Plus I found a major Canadian bank who is willing to advertise in such media.

Do you guys have this implemented in your city? If so, how do you like it and in general, do you think it is a feasible idea?

Advertisement is not my are of expertise but this opportunity seem to be big to me, but I would like to get some feedback from fellow entrepreneurs

New York, Atlanta, Miami (some), Denver, LA, Dallas. Those are cities I know have them. As far as my personal experience with them, I don't really pay attention. I'm not sure how much advrtisement money they could bring in. I'm sure it would be more expensive to advertise on the outside of a cab though than the in.

I noticed them while I was in New York. I found them fun and informative way to spend my 30min taxi ride.

good idea, how much would 100+ screens cost to get and to connect with each cab, and then how much could you get per ad, i guess you could have a time sharing scheme with multiple ads.

Not a bad idea, I would pursue it if I was you!

Green up the time has come for Toronto. There a buzz happening that some dude is making a play to have them in cabs before the end of summer for the christmas (Man did I say that) rush. Have you heard anything since your last post?

I love how technology is being used in the most simplest things to make it more effecient and better for everyone. I wish LCDs would be used for everything lol
